We can either mail you a box with a prepaid shipping label or email you a shipping label to send us your frames to our lab.

Why wouldn't I just go to my optometrist?

How do I find my prescription?

If you do not have a paper copy or know your prescription, please contact your local optometrist. Eye exams are also performed at many local optical stores by licensed opticians. You may also get an updated prescription by taking our Online Vision Test.

How much do prescription lenses cost?

New prescription lenses start at $77!

Are you eye doctors?

We are not eye doctors, but we have a licensed, state-of-the art lab right here in the U.S. to make top-of-the-line products for every eye—from the latest single vision lenses and progressive lenses, to Transition lenses; and mirrored tints.

How can I check the status of my order?

From the time that we receive your frames at our lab, lens production is about 4-7 business days on average. All lenses go through a meticulous quality inspection before being shipped back to you. If there are any imperfections at all, we may re-process your lenses so they are perfect, which can delay final shipment. Once shipped, you will receive an email confirmation with tracking number. You can always check the status of your order here.

What happens if I need to make changes to my order?

If you need to make changes to your order for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible here. Please note we can only accept changes to an order up until the order has arrived at the lab

If I need to return or exchange my order, what should I do?

Returns: Since we are making these lenses just for you, we are unable to sell them to someone else if you change your mind. If you decide you want a different option or coating, we have to remake the entire pair of lenses from scratch. Therefore we cannot accept returns. If the lenses match the prescription and specs we received from you and they are edged correctly, you should love them. If we make a mistake, or there is something you are unhappy about, we will do our best to re-make it right.

Re-makes: If we did anything incorrectly, we will happily re-make your lenses to the specs you provided us. You have 30 days from the day you receive your new lenses to notify us if anything is wrong. If it was our mistake, we will happily pay for shipping back to our lab and re-make your lenses free of charge.

Can I re-order my lenses from previous order?

You can easily re-order your lenses from a previous order by logging into your account under the past orders tab. Review all your information and simply click "re-order"

We accept all major credit cards, including HSA and FSA, Paypal, Affirm (Pay Over Time) and Amazon Pay.

Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses?

Yes, we can ship a completed order to an APO/FPO address, however, you would be responsible to ship the frames to us as we are unable to create a return label for an APO/FPO address. Once you place an order, please email support@lensabl.com for shipping instructions on how to send your frames.

My insurance company requires an itemized bill with a tax ID number. Can you provide me that?

Can I send in my frames separately for orders with multiple pairs of lenses?

Lensabl’s standard process (and pricing) includes sending in all frames for each order at once. With that said, if you do order lenses for multiple frames, and you’d like to send them in separately for any reason, you can. For more information, please contact support@lensabl.com with your order number and request.

What type of lenses does Lensabl offer?

We offer a wide range of lenses for prescription and non-prescription use. We offer o ptical lenses in the form of Single Vision, Progressive and Bifocal. Lens Materials include: CR-39, Polycarbonate, Trivex, 1.67 High-Index, 1.74 High-Index, and Glass. Lens Types include: Clear, Blue-Light Blocking (which appear clear), Sunglass (non-polarized tint, polarized tint, and mirrored) and Transitions (Signature, Xtractive, Vantage and Driveware).

What is the difference between single-vision and progessive lenses?

Single-vision lenses offer one correction throughout the entire lens, usually recommended for distance or reading. Progressive lenses offer multiple focal corrections in one lens, providing a seamless transition from distance correction on top to reading correction on bottom. This means you can see your whole field of vision without switching between multiple pairs of glasses, and is recommened for people that have trouble seeing near and far.

I'm confused on what type of lenses I need, can Lensabl help me?

Of course! We are always here to help. Chat with us at the bottom of the screen

What is the proper way to take care of my lenses?

Lens Care 101: Spray Wisely -- Use sprays that are specifically made to clean eyeglass lenses, like the one we have provided. Never use household cleaners like Windex, which contain certain chemicals that will actually break down and eventually strip away any coating on the lens. Not All Cloths Are The Same There’s nothing more convenient than using your shirt when you need to get rid of that smudge directly in the middle of your lens. However, using anything other than a microfiber cloth, like the one provided, has a textured surface and will scratch your lenses over time. Store Your Specs Our collapsable case is a perfect way to store your glasses when not wearing them. This keeps away dust and dirt, as well as protects your specs from getting scratched or broken.

Can I save my prescription for future orders?

Yes! When you place an order, your prescription will automatically be saved to your account. You can always login to your account and easily re-order lenses with your saved prescription.

I have more than one prescription, where can I store all of my prescriptions for easy access?

You can save as many prescriptions as you'd like to your account. You can even save the prescriptions of friends and family members if you'd like to order all from the same account. Just login to your account, click My Prescriptions, and you will see an option to "Add Prescription".

Can I turn my regular glasses into sun glasses?

Yes! We can make tinted or mirrored lenses for any glasses (exclusions listed here), turning your eyeglasses into sunglasses easily. We also offer photochromic lenses in grey and brown.

What are photochromic lenses?

Photochromic lenses are lenses that are clear indoors and darken automatically when exposed to sunlight (you get the best of both worlds in one lens). We stock Transitions (the brand) lenses which are the best on the market.

Is my contact prescription the same as my glasses prescription?

Contact lens prescriptions and eyeglass/sunglass prescriptions are not the same. They are significantly different because eyeglass lenses are positioned approximately 12 millimeters from your eyes, whereas contact lenses rest directly on the surface of your eyes. Please make sure the prescription you provide us for eyeglasses/sunglasses.

What is pupillary distance (PD)?

Pupillary distance (PD) is the distance between the center of your right pupil (the black circle that contracts and expands depending upon available light) and the center of your left pupil. This measurement is necessary to precisely center the lenses in a specific frame.

How do I measure my pupillary distance (PD)?

Your doctor may have provided this measurement on your prescription. If not, you can call them and ask them for it.

I was given two numbers for pupillary distance. Which one do I use?

If there are two PD numbers on your prescription, your PD was taken monocularly, meaning one eye at a time . Let’s say your numbers are 33.5/32.5. The first number is for your right eye (OD); the second is for your left eye (OS). Add these two numbers together and enter the total (ie. 33.5 + 32.5 = 66 PD)

Can you make lenses with a prism correction?

Yes! Pricing is based on your specific prescription values, as well as the type of lenses you choose to purchase. We’re happy to help you figure out the best lenses for you based on your prescription strength. Contact us

How is segment height determined for progressive lenses?

We have our own proprietary formula for determining segment height based off the size of the frame and your PD. This formula results in 99% accuracy.

Can I get new lenses for my antique frames or vintage eyeglasses?

Yes, we replace all older frames (exclusions listed here) with updated prescription lenses.

Can I get new lenses for any brand of frames?

The vast majority of frame brands and styles are eligible for lens replacement, but there are some that are either not designed to have the lenses removed at all. For more information on Frame eligibility, please visit: https://www.lensabl.com/lens-replacement-eligibility/
